Alaska Women Empower
It still seems like so many deals are made within the good-ole'-boys club. Why isn't there a good-ole'-girls club? We have a theory: Women, even professional working women, go home after work to take care of their children, families and homes. Most of us just don't go play golf or have a scotch and cigar with colleagues...which is where the good-ole'-boys club is formed.
In response to that reality, we created Alaska Women Empower, which we affectionately call "AMP". This is a program that groups women in similar or complimentary industries and provides a structurs for them to meet monthly. The group members support one another and collaborate in ways that will increase their business opportunities and lead to sustainability. Meetings are monthly and designed to develop the kind of professional bonds that men have historically developed over activities like golf.
